Colorado Doorways Featured Project, November 2006 - Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa

Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa This $300 million project in Avon, Colorado will connect Avon to Beaver Creek via a gondola, and also is meant to revitalize the town's 27-year-old shopping area.

Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa combines visions of both environmental- and pedestrian-friendly design. The resort, designed around spectacular views of the ski slopes, is based on principles of conservation.

Served by public transit, it will welcome visitors to stroll through its grounds, to the local town center, and along the banks of the Eagle River. A gondola, providing access to the mountains, will further minimize the need for guests and residents to use automobiles. The nineteen-acre site includes 224 guestrooms and 107 timeshare residences, a 24,000 square foot full-service spa, 40,000 square feet of retail shops, recreational and meeting facilities, and restaurants, as well as underground parking for 210 vehicles.

In building this worldclass resort facility, Colorado Doorways was the natural choice to supply the doors, frames and architectural hardware and we are very proud to be a part of it.

Ives Announces Concealed Electric Through-Wire and Monitor Hinges

Ives Electric Through-Wire Hinges Concealed electric through-wire hinges are a means to transfer electrical power from the power source, through the frame, and into the door and finally to the electrified door hardware.

IVES through-wire hinges provide an aesthetically pleasing power transfer solution without significant door and frame preparation for new construction and retrofit work. Monitor hinges utilize an internal switch to send a signal when the door is opened. Monitor hinges may also be ordered with through-wires to monitor an opening while providing power to electrified locking hardware.
