New Customer Portal Resource - Learn more about Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®).

LEED is a term that many of our customers are becoming and more and more familiar with. The LEED Green Building Rating System is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. Members of the U.S. Green Building Council representing all segments of the building industry developed LEED and continue to contribute to its evolution.

Colorado Doorways fully supports the LEED standards and continually works with manufacturers to ensure we offer a full line of products that meet LEED specifications. Please view the new LEED section of our Customer Portal to learn more about LEED and how CDI can help you.

Colorado Doorways Featured Project, January 2007 - Denver Art Museum

Denver Art MuseumThe Denver Art Museum Expansion is a dramatic addition to the Denver skyline and placed Denver among the top art centers in the nation. Designed by world-renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, the new addition added 146,000 SF of new exhibit space.

The original Denver Art Museum was designed by Italian architect Gio Ponti in 1971. Known as the Ponti Building, the 28-sided, two-towered, 210,000ft² structure will be connected to the Hamilton Building by an enclosed 100ft bridge. The new Hamilton Building is now the main entrance to the entire museum complex, and accommodatse shops, a café, theatre and a rooftop sculpture garden with views over the Rocky Mountain range. Modern and contemporary art, as well as the collection of architecture and design and Oceanic art is housed in the new building. The innovative structure is realized through the dramatic use of metal (titanium), glass and stone (Colorado granite).

The Hamilton Building's unique architectural form consists of a series of wall planes. The new wing's design is created out of a titanium skin cladding and sculptural form, which naturally meshes with the surrounding civic buildings. Additionally, the architecture has generated an interior, which will leave an unforgettable impression on all its visitors for years to come. The architect described the new wing as "a composition of two lines of a nexus coming together that tie downtown Denver and the Civic Center Park with the Golden Triangle neighborhood to the south".

Colorado Doorways is very proud to have supplied the doors, frames and architectural hardware for this world-class cultural facility.
